MZ kills down

Lots of reasons harvest is down - warm, windy weather, rain in areas, big football game, reduced deer movement due to weather, etc.

I only hunted yesterday afternoon. Saw nothing, but did capture a nice buck on cell cam at the stand I decided not to hunt.

Trying it again this afternoon.

Have to also account for cwd zone counties opening up rifle on the Monday before the statewide muzzleloader opened.
Good point. I assume any kills from those counties would fall under gun.

Even still the numbers seem drastically lower.

In Smith county the hunting was the worst it has been on MZ weekend that I have experienced. I heard very few shots Saturday and Sunday mornings. And zero sightings from the stand. I have never been skunked on opening weekend.

Trail cameras tell the same story. Very few photos of deer - does or bucks. Significant drop off from the previous week.

I was in Tellico Village Monday. Holly crap that place is full of deer!

Beautiful buck ran across the road.
