a replica of a45 caliber Kentucky long rifle my Dad gave me for Christmas. He got it at Sears. I took it hunting in 1983 and snapped a cap on a small buck. I never did kill a deer with it and eventually sold it for a Hawken. I feel guilty about that now and wished I would have kept it.

Who else started muzzloader hunting when sidelocks were the only choice?
 
Made in Italy. That's all it says. It's a carbine length side hammer that I still have. It had the set trigger, but no scope. I never got to fire a shot at a deer with it.
 
An Antonio Zoli 1863 Remington replica commonly known a Zouave. Popped a cap on two buck deer with that gun...never a kill.
 
CVA Mountain Stalker. My mom and dad got both me and my brother one for Christmas around 1990. Killed my first muzzleloader deer with it in Hawkins County. I still have it, but it doesn't see the woods anymore.

Yes it was. It was a tack driver with a patched round ball, but I could never get her to shoot minies worth a darn. I sold it years ago. Kinda wish I still had the old thing.

i still hunt with mine to this day. got it in 1990 also. My first was a CVA hawken kit that i got for Christmas in 1981.
 
cva fire bolt killed a few then went to a cva hunter bolt ,45 I still have the hunter bolt shots awsome.
 
T/C Hawken 50 cal. Couldn't afford the complete rifle so my wife bought me the kit for Christmas back in the late 70's.
Killed many a deer with it, missed many more,lol.

Heck I was still crapping green in 1981 lol
Them little Tc was a good shooting gun I killed many deer with that gun.
 
A TC Renegade on Christmas in sixth grade. Back in those days that meant i could hunt deer for three extra weeks in VA. Had the wood to yourself.
 
First was a T/C .50 Hawken I built from a kit back in the late 70's. I used it for several years but sold it and bought me a .50 Renegade. Love my Renegade but sure wish I had never sold that old Hawken!

Since that time I've gone through a couple of Knights and also picked up a T/C .45 Cherokee. I used the Knights for several years but now I only have one Knight and it stays in the safe. The more I used those modern inlines, the more I realized I enjoy muzzleloader season for what it is for me, a traditional season to hunt with a weapon like my ancestors used, its not a high tech muzzle loading single shot rifle season. But that's just me... :D

Next weekend, the Renegade and the little Cherokee will roll!
 
I started with a T/C Hawken back in the 90s. I killed one deer with it. It got traded off on a coon dog. Oh the lessons learned about trading. Got me an Omega few years ago, wife shoots it now and I'm shooting a Knight. Bought a CVA Hawken last week, gonna try to teach my son some history , first hand.
 
First was a Lk-93 Knight Wolverine that dad bought me for Christmas sometime in the mid 90's. Used it for many years to kill alot of deer. Havent shot it in about 5 years since I got my Savage. Still looks and shoots as good as new tho and I will probaly give it to my boy as his first mzl when he gets a little bigger.
