This 7 point came out trailing a doe 15 minutes before dark this afternoon. I asked him if he wanted to trade guns while we were sitting in the blind earlier and after shouldering it and looking through the scope a few minutes he said sure. He made a 150 yard shot to the shoulder and the buck flopped over in his tracks. He stepped up to my 270 with 150gr corelokts today from a Ruger American 223.

Great looking deer! I bet he's on cloud 9 :) keep taking him, but that buck may take him a few years to top!

I'm tickled to see him have success in the woods, as kids in pics with wildlife are my favorite. Congrats to you both, thanks for sharing.

How did the core lokts perform from a bullet standpoint? There was another thread recently, thus why I'm asking. Others may want to hear your feedback.

Complete pass through. Been shooting the 150gr pills for years and never had any issues.
