Musky and Garrett Lake

Did the TWRA put any muskellunge into Garrett Lake?

Not to my knowledge.

They did put a bunch of chain pickerel in there though.

Man's friend caught one a few weeks ago.

yea its pickerel.first time i caught one there i thought the same thing

They put the pickerel in since the early 60's.i have caught several over the years.

I have two friends who swear they got it from a guy who was there at the lake at the time TWRA stocked some muskies in it a couple of winters ago. Said they were surplus stockers and had to go somewhere and were put in to help control the population of some of the other fish.
I have a hard time believing that it was done. Have never heard of anyone catching one. I doubt that they could survive in a shallow warm water lake.
