Yeah not the problem, fall of 22 birds every where. Im talking flocks in the hundreds in a four mile square, spring 23 no birds i mean, nothing in the four mile square
 
I mean im sure it has some validity to it. common sense would tell you over hunting a population will have negative effects on the overall health and balance of the population.
 
I'm concerned this week's day after day extremely cold temperatures may kill some turkeys. In many parts of TN, going to be 7 to 10 days with the daytime temps not getting above freezing, and the nighttime temps averaging single digits and below zero.

And near zero hope that last covey of quail I've seen will survive this.
One covey of quail on over 1,000 acres. May be none this time next week.

Believe it or not, I have ZERO concerns about this extreme cold weather when it comes to turkey survivability.

They are WAY tougher than you realize. The only birds that will die would be birds that their roost crashed down in the night from ice making them vulnerable to predators.

Lack of access to feed may delay ovulation in hens by a couple days in April, but that will be it.

As far as this 'study', it would be tje first of its kind showing that sex percentage is determined by the male.

There is some evidence that sex can be skewed 'slighty' by incubation temperatures, but that is the only proven sex selection in turkeys so far..
