Missed one

Stillhunting CRP with the bow. I was slow and quiet enough to not spook him, I heard him behind a bush. He finally came out from behind the bush. It's a 1-horn spike I've passed a couple times this year. In this process I drew, let down, drew again and rushed the shot. He is ok though, he came back at a further distance to look at me again before running off. Oh well it was a thrill. Gotta look for the arrow tomorrow.

I missed a doe by stalking her with a bow this year.. Got a little too close at 15 yards away and she ran to about 40 when she seen me draw... I misjudged it and went 30. It sucks but it happens.

Late season bow hunting is rough but atleast there is opurtunity good luck on the next one

It hurts but was exciting. At least he is ok. I'd rather see him live another year or two, but when he's up close and personal and it's late December I think differently!

I went back today to look for the arrow. A buddy of mine tagged along and he found the arrow half buried in the grass at least 20 yards downrange of where the deer was standing. As thick as the weeds and bushes are, I'm surprised it went that far. It was good eyes and blind luck combined that he found it. Now to touch up the blades and kill another deer with it, hope I don't miss this time.
