I found the Nikon laser Range finder and grunt call I left on the ground where I changed clothes yesterday. Cows did not step on them and they were fine.

I happy boy. Them ranger deal aint cheap.

I'll bet that was like finding the "golden egg" bowriter. I lost my favorite pocket knife years ago while riding a trail bike thru the woods. I went back to the general area 3 years later to deer hunt. I cleared the leaves back with my boots next to a large oak tree and saw something metallic sticking up out of the dirt.

I had to sit down immediately, as I was getting "weak kneed".

I lost a green stream light stinger flashlight at cheatam game reserve one weekend and walked up on it 2 months later, in the dark! Still use it to this day! Tough lights!

I pretty well knew where these were. I took some clothes off as it was getting warm and remembered taking these off too. They were laying right where I left them.

But I have a topper. My uncle stuck an old, Case pocket knife in a cypress tree when he finished tying up our duck boat. He forgot, went off and left it. Gave it no thought and could not remember doing it. Four years later, during a dry year, he walked up on the tree while scouting for squirrels and there the knife was. He did not realize it was his until he got home and started looking at it.

I have found things in the mountains I would like to know the story behind.

That's great! I lost a striker last season. Took my boy on his first turkey hunt and he found it. I gave him the box and told him to keep it.

on Sunday I was crawling through an open field with some grass for cover, stalking a flock of turkeys. I backed out and started to walk the perimeter for cover so I could get on the turkeys' side of the field. Then I realized my phone and tube call had fallen out of my pocket. First I kept stalking. then it started raining, so I had to go back and look. The turkeys had disappeared from sight so I just walked back and forth till I found my phone and call. Continued around the edge of the field, into the woods, and when I came back out of the woods the turkeys were 35 yards away and I killed two of them.
