Looking for catfish spot near Johnson city

Any good catfish spots up here not to far away? Have some chicken marinading to try out and would like to bag a few small ones.

Think I'm gonna try Watauga out tomorrow.

Watauga was always called the Dead Sea. Think it's gotten better than it use to be. But I haven't fished it in 20 years.

There is so not eat warnings on the catfish in all the lakes in and around the tricities. People move here cause it's so beautiful to bad the lakes and rivers are polluted with chemicals. I only eat certain small fish around here. Still contaminated but hopefully less cause there not as old.

John Sevier Steam Plant was a catfish hotspot at on Cherokee at one time. I'm not sure how the fishing is since it has been torn down.
Caney Creek embayment should be a good place as well.

some decent public access in the Poor Valley area and between Cloud and Caney Creeks

used to catch some very pretty channel cats below Ft. Patrick Henry dam while trout fishing.
