This is what I have. I got a TC pro Hunter

What else do I need and where is the best places to get it?

I was gonna go with a 45-70 barrel but need it to be blue instead of stainless steel.

Other than the components to load and shoot it, you just need a Savage ML breech plug and a barrel.

Luke has a good selection and good prices on most things relating to Smokeless MLs http://www.smokelessmz.com

A stainless barrel looks fine on a blue frame and may be easier to find.

I've got a couple barrels off gunbroker. Not a lot of em offered usually but just watch for em. I will tell ya the blued is light and will kick like a mule. 280 Longshot can second this I'm sure. As stated above luke is the place to get everything else..

I checked Luke's site yesterday as that's where I get my stuff, but I only saw barrels for Savage and Remington. Did I just overlook it?

Drew a lot of guys prefer the stainless barrel and then coat it black. Something to think about if you have a hard time finding a blued one.

I built a 20" for my Encore and it performs great. Very accurate, and the compact size is an excellent carry gun.

For what it's worth I will give you my 2 cents.... you can speak with Robert and I'm positive he will agree.

Building an Encore barrel vs a NEF Handi rifle, the Handi will out perform the Encore barrel, the Kathadin barrel and the Bergara barrel.

I done a 20 Kathadin for myself. Shot others with the Bergara barrels. Last two Handi conversions Robert dome for me, I wanted to keep them for myself.

You can still get the handi 45-70 on Gunbroker

You will maybe have 20.00-30.00 more in the Handi assembly than a converted new barrel for your Encore

What's wrong with the Encore? All you need is a barrel with a breech plug installed. You already love the gun.

You aren't supposed to use a regular muzzleloader barrel with smokeless powder. Thus you will need a new barrel in 45-70 that can be fitted with a smokeless breech plug unless you can find a smokeless muzzleloader barrel for the Remington. The web sight mentioned above will help too.

With the Rem 700 mzl you will need things, next thing to do is get with Luke or HillBill and let them build it for you...

Call BULLBERRY BARRELS they will get you a Pac-nor DD in what ever you want and will help you in the right direction and will send you barrel ready to install yourself. You will need the breech plug . I own 2 savage smokeless and I built a Remington which performs great its just heavy and long. They all shoot great but the pro-hunter ( SWEET LIPS ) ENGRAVED ON BARREL BY BULLBERRY is my favorite by far. You would really like the performance of the Pac-nor they are great shooters just not the cheapest.
