Longest I have been in one spot

I've been in a black walnut tree for 6 hours now and haven't seen the first deer. Heard a number of shots, one of which was close by. Had a deer blowing off in the distance behind me too.

Normally I can't sit still much longer than 3 hours or so, but somehow I'm still here in this tree. I'll be here another hour at the most, head back to the truck for a snack and to juice up my phone, then pick my evening spot which may be in a tree or on the ground depending on where I choose.

I usually do quite a bit of still hunting the first day in a new spot especially during lunch i try to cover a lot of ground while other hunters eat

I have been doing the same. I am a vetran Hunter (30 yrs) in a new state. Had it all figured out back Home, Now I am back to sq one.

The Longer you can sit in one spot the more you will learn about it. Deer move at all timesof the day, You never know when the next one will walk by
