With a moderate powder load in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing, the danger is minimal and it has been used for over 200 years.

Having said that I see no need for it, and the [color:#FF0000]REAL DANGER[/color] is someone reading this Halfa** and going out and [color:#FF0000]DOUBLE loading[/color] everything: powder,ball,powder,ball. Then the newspaper arcticle start on how muzzleloaders are just pipe bombs and should be banned because Johnny is missing is right hand and left side of his face.

Actually, I guess it would be left hand and left side of his face assuming Johnny shoots right handed.

Looks like an older publishing. I would be very surprised if you would find any manufacturer who would publish that now. With all the possible things that could wrong there is no corporate lawyer that would allow any company to take the risk.

It doesn't matter what you come up with Wobblyshot the nay-sayers are still gonna have something to say about it. Reminds me of a post awhile back on a 45-70 load (wasn't here). The guy was wanting to try a certain powder...good lord, he got pretty much the same response as this thread. So I scanned and posted data right out of the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook for the load he was wanting...nay-sayers still picked it to death, old book, etc., etc.. Guess loads from days gone by just don't work or apply to most folks these days.

I was thinking the same thing but upon searching in the hunting guide, I was unable to find any reference to using multiple projectiles. The only thing for big game that I was able to find was for shotguns(muzzleloading included). On page 18 under manner and means a single solid ball or slug is allowed. I see nothing about this for muzzle loading rifles.

Maybe I can't see the forest for the trees....enlighten me please.

i was under the impression that ANY multiple projectile load is illegal for deer.
