Guy's I just got to brag a little on my Black lep pup. I went hunting last Saturday night being that the kill season is about over I decided I would take my old redtick dog out . He's only been out one time this year before tonight because of his health issues. He's one of those dogs you wouldn't sell for nothing even though all he does is take up kennel space. He'll be here until the end. Anyway I take Luke (the redtick) and Annie my mtn curr and Ace my little black lep which is 10 months old. Well Luke cranks up on a coon has a short race with the help of Annie and has 2 up a tree. When I get there I find all 3 dogs there Annie climbed up a leaning tree and fell out from about 12 feet (this will probably the death of her one day she does it all the time) and my little lep Ace is there just chopping his little heart out. Before this all he wanted to do is play with the other dogs. Well I tie Luke back and shoot one of the coons out for the cur and lep. Man they love to stretch one out. OK now for Sunday night my son (Jeremy)and I decided we would go after church Sunday night since it was the last night of the season. So we took all three plus my son's dog Big boy (redtick) The 2 redticks strike one up pretty quick and take it over the ridge I may hear the cur open just a little but she don't have a very big mouth. We get to the top of the ridge so we can hear and the redticks are drowning ever thing out treed. My son and I make our way to the tree and find all the dogs in the general vicinity. With only the 2 redticks on the tree. So we start to look for the coon and its just our luck its a huge tree with the air thick with fog. So we look for about 30 minutes to no avail, just about to give up and my little Ace blows up treed about 30 ft. down the hill. I mean barking like he is in a treein contest. Me and my son look at each other wondering what is he doing. Guess who had the coon. After another hard search finally a coon. Jeremy looked at me and said now " don't that make you proud."
