I would like to know what your thoughts are on learning taxidermy by way of a dvd course. How many of you have done this successfully? I work a full time job (50+ hours a week) so a taxidermy school is out of the question. I was hoping to find someone to help me while I help them as an apprentice but that didn't pan out. I am very interested in learning this art any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming your talking deer, get Rick Carters Whitetail A-Z. It will give you a good base to learn from.

Then after you "play around" with a few deer contact one of the many taxidermist that offer a 3-5 day short course.

Oh and you will hear the term "reference" many, many times. I cannot stress that enough, study and have plenty reference on hand.
