Surprisingly, checked my "dead, just dirt" plots, and when I lifted up what little thatch is out there, clover seed I recently broadcast has germinated, but is just sitting there under the thatch, waiting on rain.
Bare dirt sections - nothing. And turkey and dove have eaten all the seed.

As I say all the time (because I don't hunt them), they're nothing more than big, feathered seed-eating RATS!
