I will be headed that way Tommrrow around noon.

Weather man says the low is gonna be in the mid 50's around Dover Friday and Saturday. Wonder where a feller could hang a deer if he was lucky enough to get one?

There is a little BBQ stand across the road from the Dover Inn that has a cooler and I believe Dover Inn has a cooler also. I think its $10 a day to hang a deer.

I am heading down today and will be in 13. Look forward to it. I am expecting an orange army but hopefully I can find a spot away from the crowd.

1st day was uneventful. Warm with an easterly wind. Not ideal conditions. Maybe I'll have better news tomorrow.

2nd day just as bad as the first. Out of 3 of us we saw 10 total deer for 2 days and a handful of hogs. Not hunting Sunday due to high chance of rain tonight and tomorrow.
Greatful for the opportunity but wishing the weather was better.

I saw the same three does Friday morning and evening in area 12, and nothing on Saturday unless you count the truck that drove down a closed road and literally through the middle of a field right to there stand 🤔🤣 Unfortunately I also saw over 30 pigs on the powerline cut. I have hunted this area for years and this is the first time I have seen hog sign there. It's infested with pigs, and I will have to find yet another place to hunt. This is the 3rd spot that has consistently produced deer that has now been overtaken by hogs. I love LBL but they have lost the battle with the pigs. I reported the area with one of the wardens. He is new and from Alabama, and can't understand why we can't shoot them either. Hopefully they will let us help, although it will be a loosing battle from here on out. It's sad because the deer we're starting to make a comeback, especially on the Tennessee side. The hogs are here to stay and will change this place for ever.

I just ran the Hunters Toolbox for Friday - current. 45 antlered males, 4 antlerless males, and 23 does.

Edited, to keep me from sounding like a complete idiot.

Apparently nothing big. My buddy killed a decent buck Friday. LBL used to produce what seemed like at least one 160" deer every year on the gun hunt. Now it seems like a 130" deer is a stretch

I still enjoy hunting out there and try to draw a tag every couple of years, but you're right about the quality seeming to diminish. It's no longer a place I go thinking I could kill a buck of a lifetime. It is a nice chance for me to meet up with some buddies, rent a cabin, and have a good weekend based around deer hunting.

Saw some hogs, turkeys, bobcat, and not many deer. One of the guys in our group got a nice 8 point Saturday. Fun hunting I feel a shift to some colder weather will help. If that happens the next few weeks should be good. That tends to apply to anywhere in TN though.

Good deal! Let's see the pictures!
Just a small dude, but great memory. I actually got frustrated early hadn't seen a deer all weekend. I Was setting on the ground in the rain stood up ready to pack up. Well when I did that I noticed this guy making his way to me 70 yards out or so. I Slowly set back down and got a shot a few moments later. It was a heck of a drag out of that hole completely soaked. You can't tell in the picture I walked back to the truck first to put up my gear. I decided to take off my heavy boots and rain gear, then walked all the way back to drag him out that place in tennis shoes. Not the smartest move.
