Late Beans

Just got off the tractor at 8pm, had soybeans in my no-till drill for a while, work, moving, trips, etc. they are late, 7 acres just done.

While growing up the farmers always same you lose a bushel of yield
everyday after the 15th of June, well guess we will see, feeding deer anyway.

will post pictures as they grow, had plenty of moisture

I plan on finishing up planting this weekend too. Got a whole bag of Eagles that are open so I figure I should get them in the ground. Sure hope it rains as much this month as it did in June but I'm not going to hold my breath! LOL

I've heard that myself. But, it appears to me that there will be a lot of "late" beans in Western Kentucky this year, as I noticed Saturday. Seems that a lot of Winter Wheat fields are having/will have beans drilled in up there. Corn is looking awesome, however.

From a selfish standpoint I hope so. I'm noping that a lot of the areas that were suppose to have corn will have late beans instead.

I know most of the farmers that had wheat are just now finishing up picking the wheat and planting beans behind them. I even know 1 farmer close to our farm that has been planting all his beans this late for the past few years. I know he is getting older and his sons have other jobs is part of the reason they keep planting late but it looks like he would make a lot more money off his crops if he would plant earlier in the year.
