What is the timing here in TN. I am getting the itch. I am not a die hard fisherman, but was at one point when I live in AL. So I was thinking about getting in the kayak and fishing a little. I have only really fished for largemouth. So is it too early? What kind of artificial lures should I throw at them. I'll probly be headed to Melton Hill here in K-town. Anybody wanna help I'd appreciate it.

When the water reaches the 60's. Probably within the next 3-4 weeks would be my GUESS.

I fished all day Tuesday, then on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. The water temp is starting to climb. The water level is rising and heading toward summer pool depth. The pre-spawn has already started in the warmer areas where the water is up enough.

Tuesday was slow on the main lake areas.

Wednesday was better in creeks and sloughs with rattle traps.

Thursday was a lot better in creeks that were getting
some new water in the shallows. Shooting some shallow water temps in the 58-61 range. I was catching a lot of male bass that had bloody looking tales from making beds. The big sow Bass are hanging off the drops in 12-16 feet of water. By this weekend they should move up some.
