Was reading in my QDMA food plot book ,for about the 9 millionth time, and it said that a stand of Landino should produce about 10,000 pounds per acre, per year of forage.DANG,that sounds like a lot!Hope they are right,Ill have some big whopper deer.I assume this is under optimum conditions,Im waiting on my soil test now, hopefully I wont have to far to go.

Wonder how that lbs per acre compares to corn, soybeans, etc?

You think 10,000 lbs per acre is good,.. for clover it is great,. 1 acre of oats can produce between 2 to 5 tons per acre!! Thats why grains, and cool season annual plantings, are crucial part of food plotting. Annuals typically produce the most tons of forage per acre.
