A lot of people keep asking about planting clover. This was frost seeded mid February.

I haven't been to the lease since turkey season but they were eating it then.

Looks great............it is my experience that deer will eat it most of the summer.........but even more so as the weather becomes dryer, hotter and the other plants become less desirable because of this. The clover if having a cover like you show seems to become very desirable as this dry process grows. I have also noticed that along with that the poke salad starts getting hammered as it is more succulent also. if you stay afield during this time you will actually see this obvious transition in our area of Wayne county. Also from this point forward the does wont leave a salt lick and in many cases seem to be on them almost 24 hours a day especially if lactating. I was getting 1500 photos in a few weeks time, and it was family groups of does and fawns. Amazing!

Yea on my best lease we have decided to put clover in every plot. Easier and lot less work. We will see how it works.
