When we "car camp" we stay in the non electric sites at Piney. You can fish all along the bank there too. Piney has a little walking trail that is easy and pleasant walk through the woods.

Go check out the Bison range, North end of LBL in KY.

Try camping in the Ginger Ridge Backcountry Camping area. Not Ginger Bay, but rather Ginger Ridge. Ginger Ridge is an area just north of Ginger Bay. It has good camping areas with great views of Kentucky Lake. Another option I like is camping on some of the points overlooking the lakes.

Check out the Elk/Bison Prairie, Bison Range, Nature Station. Drive over to the Empire Farms area along Barkley Lake to view fallow deer, and other wildlife. Drive to the north end of LBL and drive on the KY Lake scenic drive which has some great views of KY Lake. You may want to hike part of the North/South Trail also to get out and enjoy nature.
