I have tried and tried. Three or four different powder types, two or three bullet types (not to mention half a dozen or more factory loads).

This gun will not group consistantly below 1 MOA. Yes, it will do the occasional .3" 3-shot group after a few attempts, but to actually put 5 rounds, group after group, into sub-MOA is unobtainable.

I have settled on a hunting load of 165 grain Sierra Gameking over 44 grains of IMR 4320, Federal match primers, and Winchester brass. It groups consistently around 1.25" over and over and over again.

There is only one last thing that I am going to try. Neck sizing only. I have a neck sizing die ordered and on the way. Anyone think this will help?

This rifle has a long chamber and the closest I can seat bullets and still be able to use the magazine is 0.1" off the lands. Quite a jump.

If the neck sizing doesn't work, I'm just going to come to terms with the fact that this gun is not a sub-MOA gun. Over 1,000 rounds later, it's time to face the facts.

I think if you have a 1 moa factory rifle you have a good one. A lot of rifles will give you the occasional .3" three shot groups. But to do 1 moa consistently like you have described is rare.

Reloader 15 has a good following and works well with 168-168gr in my 308. Maybe its the crown or the stock fit.
Wish you the best,

The jump is maybe the source of your group size. First, use the books and figure out the best way for you to seat the bullet you want to use about .010 off the lands. I am assuming you beam weigh your charge, you use a premium primer (210M or similar), the brass is under max length. Based on your bullet weight and charge, sounds like a 308.

I don't know how you worked up to the best charge weight but COL plays a role in accuracy. Another thing is to be sure the brass mouth is chamfered evenly to avoid the bullet canting at ignition. Clean the inside of the neck.

If your groups tighten up then you have to decide whether or not you will accept the improved accuracy at the expense of not being able to utilize the magazine. With my 300 WinMag I have them loaded out so far I have to drop one into the chamber, close the bolt, load one round into magazine and slap it shut.(Browning A-Bolt II BOSS). .812 at 100 with 180 Nosler Partitions pushing 2985->3016 FPS.

Both of my Kimbers shoot better with a dirty barrel, they tend to shoot lousy with a clean barrel. After 10 rounds down the tube, groups shrink considerably.
