Kimber 2K11 Pro Comp... Not entirely sure I agree with it being "the new gold standard"

Certainly looks great, but not sure if I agree with it being the new "Gold Standard". Then again, I'm not entirely sold on 2011's to begin with.

It would take a lot to sell me on Kimber as the gold standard for anything. I have time on Staccato and Triarc guns and both are extremely solid 2011 systems.

I've never been a fan of the 2011. I am of the 1911 and still own a couple, but I don't carry them anymore, too many better options.

Seems to me like most internet people either love or hate Kimber. I only had two, a 2004 Kimber Custom TLE II and a 2008 SIS ULTRA. The Ultra was a 3" gun. I didn't care for that. But the 5" TLE II was a beautiful gun and extremely accurate. The Ultra was as good as I expected a 3" gun to be.

I mean, I cannot believe this $2,300 gun. And I know that sounds expensive to a lot of you that aren't in the 2011 game, but $2,300 is not expensive for a 2011. They go all the way up to 10,000. Average is around $3 to4 for a really good one.
