Is he leaving before play off season? that would be something!! bamers start looking for mattresses lol
I am not sure about mattresses . He may have some security concerns if someone were to upset ALABAMA though.

Stupidest thing he could do in his career right now would be to leave behind a team that is fixing to win a National Championship to go and get a jump on a team that is likely to have a .500 season if that.

You can wait till Mid January to be a loser.

You think is such a big deal to stay at Alabama? you think really he cares much other than money? Starting now he can be ahead in recruiting etc. I'm sure he would be 100% thinking of alabama anyways if he stayed!!

Well there is something to be said for that. Alot of employers once you give notice will just let you go because you can be a detriment to the program. I guess that could be said for football as well.

I agree... But I think he would stay and if they win the Natty he can say he called that game as well.

I agree. I mean who does not want another National Championship under your belt??

Goes a long way towards a building a Legacy.

Tilman Fertitta; 'Houston has not made an offer to Kiffin... There has been no offer to anyone... This is a bad rumor.'

Fertitta says they hope to name a new coach tomorrow and that Kiffin has been interviewed along with 4 others they 'think the world of.' The other 4 are Major Applewhite, Les Miles, Todd Orlando, and Lincoln Riley.

He hasn't left yet. In fact, no offer has been made as of mid morning.

It wouldn't be stupid to leave now. If that becomes his new job, he should leave when he feels it's necessary.

You must be smoking crack if you think Kiffin is going to be a loser at Houston. He will win there. If he gets the job.

I agree... He will do good there. Herman ran a similar offense Lane runs. Should be a smooth transition.

I thought Oregon would have came hard at him instead of Taggert.

I beg to differ. His stats as a HC tell a different story.

Overall 35–21 (college)
5–15 (NFL)
Bowls 0–2

And I don't smoke crack. Well maybe if I am in church and have heard the Hymn or something. LOL

I think kiffin will win at Houston also, but outta the 3 other Head coaching jobs Kiffin has had (three since 07) he never lasted longer then 3 years.

two in the NFl with Oakland (fired)
1 at UT it looked like he may do good things there, but we will never know cause he took off after a single year.
to go to his "dream job" USC to get fired again after 3 years.

I don't think he will be at Houston long He will fail & get fired for a 3ed time as a HC, or have two or three good seasons, and jump to a better program.

Well he has done a outstanding job as a OC at ALABAMA. No doubt about that. Perhaps even seeing some insight into how a real program is run from top to bottom.

If he comes out of there with those tools in his toolbag he has the potential to do well. That's for sure. Time will tell. My money is he is going to be a complete flop and wind back up as someones OC or maybe to some NFL hack team again.

If he fails again you would have to think his HC career would be over that would be four HC jobs that he took off from or failed at. He would be no better then an OC rest of his career.

Plus if he quits in the middle of the playoffs ? What's that saying about his character .

Two questions.

1- Is there a Lexus dealer in the Houston area?
2- What do the co-eds look like?

If anybody knows the answer to these questions, we will know for certain whether Lane is taking the Houston job or not.

Three words: Big Oil Money. The question should be "How many Lexus dealers are in the Houston area?"

It's Texas. Whaddya think? Everything's bigger in Texas. ;)

Lane's gone. It's just a matter of when.
He said he's sticking it out through the playoffs, but who knows what the actual signing agreement will require.

He could probably split time doing both.

I REALLY hope some of the Bama recruits follow him though. That would be hilarious :D ! He is probably the best QB coach in the game today.

WIth all of the rumors about him while in T-town, it was pretty evident that he would be gone after this year, the final year of his contract.

So unlimited Lexus dealers to choose from and Texas women with bigger everything to chose from.

Joey Freshwater is there.

Edit: Just saw the news. Lexus of Houston must not have had the color he wanted.
