I came home from a road trip Saturday, and this was at the front door. A while back I had a little loose change in my pocket and Jim K. was running a special which included free shipping, so this was the result. After much consideration I elected to go with his circa 1770 colonial rifle. What intrigued me was the offering of a .58(24 ga) smoothbore as a barrel option. Once complete you will be able to hunt deer with a ball and turkey, squirrel, or rabbit with shot....an all-round hunting gun commonly referred to as a "smooth rifle".
Jim Kibler, for now, is offering up three flintlock rifle kits. I understand a fowler and Hawken rifle are in the works. The very fine assemblage is CNC made with extremely close tolerances making it fairly easy for most to put together and then apply a finish of their choice for an heirloom quality gun. https://kiblerslongrifles.com/
I almost forgot...he also has a YouTube channel showing videos of detailed steps in putting one together.
