Turned a mess into a pretty nice place. Sure looks nice. Congratulations and the best of luck.

Very nice! And I know how much work is involved in making a little plot out of and old overgrown clearing.

IN just the last week or so, it seems that the deer and turkeys have hit it really hard.

Half the plot is missing. Is this normal for a small plot?

Just out of curiosity, are the parts of the plots that are "missing" around the edges, and/or around any trees left standing in the plot? If so, what you are probably seeing is the effect trees have on soil moisture. In times of limited rainfall, trees can completely drain the soil of moisture out to the edges of their canopy, killing any food plot plants growing in these areas. During the September drought this year, the only food plot plants still alive in my small plots were the ones growing out in the middle, away from any surrounding trees.

From the looks of it, I think your plot is being eaten to the ground by deer. As Jarred525 suggested, you need to install an exclusion cage to find out how much growth you're really getting.

What time was the above pic taken? Reason I ask is that is a lot of shade.is the whole plot getting 4-6 hrs sunlight? And of course, did you soil test and fertilize and lime it?
