Had to start another thread, cause the paint was what I was really looking forward to.
First there were a couple things added to the boat before I painted.
Handles on the stern:
Removable gunnel foam. Covered in Gorilla tape (not shown in pic). 1" pipe insulation foam.
Also added a white oak transom board, coated in Thompson's water seal. (big thanks to woodchuckc for supplying the wood).
Finished sealing the rivets with E-6000 glue, tough and very flexible stuff so it will bend with the boat.
Once the E-6000 had set in good overnight, I took her out in the back yard.
Scrubbed with vinegar water, wiped with a damp cloth, dried with a clean towel. Primed one thin coat and painted 2 coats.

If it looks splotchy in the pic, it's because the paint was still wet.
The gunnels got some paint on them due to a crappy tape job but nothing a little scrubbing can't fix. They need to be scrubbed anyway, and will usually be covered in foam too.
