Had to start another thread, cause the paint was what I was really looking forward to.

First there were a couple things added to the boat before I painted.

Handles on the stern:

Removable gunnel foam. Covered in Gorilla tape (not shown in pic). 1" pipe insulation foam.

Also added a white oak transom board, coated in Thompson's water seal. (big thanks to woodchuckc for supplying the wood).

Finished sealing the rivets with E-6000 glue, tough and very flexible stuff so it will bend with the boat.

Once the E-6000 had set in good overnight, I took her out in the back yard.

Scrubbed with vinegar water, wiped with a damp cloth, dried with a clean towel. Primed one thin coat and painted 2 coats.

If it looks splotchy in the pic, it's because the paint was still wet.

The gunnels got some paint on them due to a crappy tape job but nothing a little scrubbing can't fix. They need to be scrubbed anyway, and will usually be covered in foam too.

Thanks scn. Since you are with TWRA can you answer a question.... do I need to put numbers on the hull when I register it, or just the decals?

You are required to have the numbers and decal. When you get your registration card there will be instructions about the size of the letters and how they are displayed on the boat.

Thank you... previous owner didn't seem to have any numbers on it.. lol. He had it registered and had the stickers on the boat but no numbers. I'm gonna get it registered soon as I can and then stop by academy or walmart for the numbers.

Looking good. Now all you need is a 60hp tiller steer hanging on the back....that should move you down the water .

I think I would wear a life jacket and a parachute... the boat would take off :D

I'm gonna find a way to paint, or put a 75 HP sticker on my trolling motor and maybe add a Turbo just for fun.....

That is realy looking good. I still remember the original piture when you first got it. I can tell you have worked hard on this project. :)

Thank you... I still remember it too, it was pretty beat up looking when I got it. Pretty soon I'm gonna scrub out the inside and give it a nice clean look.

Thanks all

Here are a few more pics

Gunwales and the interior still need cleaning. Other than that, I've got the name painted on and a few stickers....

Just showing my support for my fishin gear!

Washed the areas before applying the decals... gonna start scrubbing down the interior soon and get it looking nice and clean.

If all goes well, I will be taking it for a float on wednesday.

Looking great catman! You'll spend many enjoyable hours in your boat, and it will be especially rewarding because you have spent so much time and effort on restoring it.

And, you are welcome for the transom piece - I was glad to help you out!

Went to the county clerk today. Gettin her registered... gotta fill this paperwork and get it to the TWRA office soon as I get the chance. Gonna take her for a float tomorrow too.

I like the name! A common critter of some of the streams that you fish.
My favorite baitfish in the harpeth river, and the boat is long and skinny like a minnow, so I figured it would be a good name. Caught my share of catfish, lm bass, sm bass, drum, gar, on stonerollers. Caught my personal best smallmouth on half of a stoneroller in the harpeth. Might have caught my biggest Harpeth river channel cat on a stoneroller (cant remember for sure). Can't beat those minners with their black-green smelly guts.

Thanks Gil. maybe this summer I might find myself in this boat, holding a fly rod, sneaking up on a big carp....
