Ordered my lime today and getting ready to spread it on Friday! (weather permitting) Who else is getting geared up for this?

In a few months. Around middle of April I'll be ready. I have small plots but spread 9.5 tons. I'll do the same this year if I can get to the plots on my ridges.

My last application is going on 3 years now and still keeping pH stable. Ive done everything I can to maintain it. Im expecting Ill need to do it again in the next few years and I dread it because the fields are so hard to get to with ag lime.

So how do most of you spread that much. I need enough for about 4 acres. Do you pay someone, like the co-op to spread it? Or buy it in bulk or bags and do it yourself? (Can't see that you'd be able to spread that much out of bags)

Yea, co-op or whoever you have doing it will have (usually 5 ton trucks) with a spreader on it. They simply drive and spread. We usually do about 2 tons per acre. Where we usually get ours, he has another 30 ton truck to haul in extra lime...I cant seem to get in touch with him

The guy here who delivers mine has a 25 ton truck and if he spreads it then it's $400 a load. but if I spread it i save $100 bucks. So it's not a bad deal at all. I also do have a company that I use for small food plots where i use bags of pelletized and i get 50lbs bags for $4. That brings a 60 bag pallet to $240. So I have done both.

If I had to guess I would say about $36 a ton spreaded. You would be better off calling CPS in somerville.
