"I don't know what they're doing, I just focus on us, but I know we've got to bring it, that's for sure," Pavia said. "The crowd, I think, is going to be a big factor in the game. But we just gotta play within the white lines. If we do that, if we play our game, it won't be close."

Way to give your opponent motivational material. Bad move.

Jerry Kramer, in his book Instant Replay, talked about praising your opponent and saying nothing derogatory about them to prevent them from using your words to get motivated. He gave one great example, where Danny Grimm had faced the great Alex Karras in a game and handled him well; he told the reporters he wasn't impressed by Karras' moves. What Grimm didn't know is that Karras was playing with a sprained groin muscle. The next time they played Karras destroyed him and, after one particularly savage encounter asked him, "How'd you like those moves, ass face?" :D

At least part of Pavia's confidence in Vandy's chances against Bama comes from the fact that former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Johnny Manziel now has his ear. Manziel has become friendly with Pavia since moving to Nashville, and he will be in attendance as Pavia tries to double up on wins over Alabama, exceeding Manziel's famous road upset of the Crimson Tide as quarterback for Texas A&M.

"I beat [Alabama] once. Diego's got a chance to beat them twice," Manziel told On3. "That's the kind of s--t they build statues for."

It will be interesting to see how Bama responds after many of their fans jumped LOUDLY back on the ship after last week.

While I would love to see Vandy do it again, I think it would serve TN better for Bama to go ahead and win convincingly.

But, as I said a few weeks ago, this isn't a Vandy team of old.

I hope I'm wrong but Bama by 2TDs. Could look like the IU-Illinois game from a couple weeks ago. I'd love to see Vandy win, but I think this plane is landing.

I've seen more alabama license plates on the front of vehicles in west TN this week than I've seen since Florida State curbstomped the gumps. I'm pretty sure Bandwagon Nation took all their plates off until after the Georgia game.

Big talk considering the quality of their opponents so far this season. Not a fan of the smack talk. Do it on the field. Pulled that against the Vols last year and didn't work out so well.

Him hanging with Johnny Football isn't a good thing for Vandy either. That kid was a star on the field but the Commodore faithful better hope he doesn't pick up Johnny's after game habits.

At the chance of threatening my reputation on here, I have to admit I am a life long Tide fan, even though all my kids are Vols fans. I have noticed that no matter who the opponent is, when Bama loses, the sun still comes up the next day. It is football and the final score does not signal the end of the world. Some of you may remember when Auburn coach Pat Dye made an appearance on the tonight show with Johnny Carson, it was after a close loss to Bama. Carson ask him, "Coach time was almost over (3 mins left) you had an easy field goal for a tie, but instead you ran around the end and didn't make it, why" Bear Bryant had retired and died shortly before this. Dye replied, "I silently asked God what do I do here, and in my head I heard, run the ball around the end, I was so disappointed it didn't work". On the way home, I stopped on the side of the interstate, and "I said God, why did you tell me to run that ball around the end and God audibly replied and said, I am not sure, Bear why did we do that." I am rolling with the Tide, it will be a good game either way!
