I know this made him sick for two days after. Long time hunter, very knowledgeable hunter, always adheres to the rules and emphatic about safety. Perfect set up on the edge of a field, had hens and a few jakes scratching around, here comes a big gobbler �right in range�, took the shot �got him clean� flop. Delighted to say the least, walked over and there was a second flopping just behind (a Jake) in tall grass. Now he was shooting into a hillside slope so backdrop was safe. My question: What should one do in a case such as this? Call a GW and explain circumstances? Wanton waste and leave one (not me), on the other hand I would be hesitant to walk out with two birds. From a TWRA standpoint what is the best/legal course of action?
