Yep. South nashville. I heard they are $40.00 this year and smaller than in years past. I see you are in NC so this may not help but. He does ship.

I found this guy. He has quite a few 3yr trees and 1 yr old trees. The one I bought is about 1 inch caliper and about 8-9 ft. It had chestnuts on it last year. They are rootmaker trees, look really good. He also has persimmons.

He is in Bethpage. Here is his website. He had quite a few 3yr and 1yr old chestnuts.

Call him, I am not sure if he has the chestnuts on the site yet.

You saying a Wal-Mart in South Nashville has them or are you saying this guy at Rock Brige Trees has them?

I went to realtreenursery.com and viewed the listing of stores there Dunstan chestnuts are being delivered to and I did not see any TN locations. I find that very odd so maybe I'm missing something.

The TN stores are not getting there stock in until early April this year due to the harsh winter according to their website.

Excellent info, thanks man. Yeah, after I posted that I realized the only link they had up (that I saw) was for March deliveries.

I have to say I still do not see the hype. Dunstans produce less (number of nuts) mast than Chinese. They have lager, but fewer nuts. You can get a CC 6 ft for 15 bucks. I guess its great marketing..

Understood.... They are a LOT more chinese than American.

I am not knocking at all! Its just interesting to see how marketing works.

Then they are false advertising if that is the case. You may very well be right though.

Dont get me wrong, they crossed with the American. A long time ago. The Dunstan tree is an orchard tree, with large mast. American chestnuts are a fraction of the size of the Dunstan and taste a lot better. The only resemblance to the American is that some have a upright phenotype.

The 15/16th was produced from the TACF (american chestnut foundation). You should look into that organization, they are good, and you can get pure American chestnuts to plant! Great organization.

I bought sixteen chestnuts from him today and also some persimmon and pecans. Very nice guy and seemed to be very knowledgable.
