Is this deer in heat?

I shot a young doe, I think a yearling, with dark tarsals and bloody pee coming out of the back end. Should I be bottling up the piss and hang the tarsals from a tree this evening? She was all alone this morning, took a few minutes before I got a shot and no sign of other deer nearby.

I guess the pee will just smell like ammonia if you don't seal it up. Probably the same with the tarsal gland

Well I "extracted" half a bottle of piss and saved the tarsals. The bottle came from a friend who vapes, I figured it would work well once I rinsed it out. Gonna keep in fridge till I use it. Wonder if it will work, can't hurt to try it, must be better than the shelf stuff.

It's even better if you get your buddies vaper cigarette put a few drops of that pee in it and smoke it while you hunt. That way the scent carries much further.

I think if I gargle with it and then put a tarsal in my lip like a big pinch of dip, I should get the most scent dispersion.

If the blood mixed with urine is menstrual blood and not blood from internal injuries, it means she ovulated 2 weeks AGO, and was not bred during first cycle. She would have come into heat again in another 2 weeks for second rut if she were still alive.

Besides, I doubt you could get the vaping bottle clean enough, esp with the rubber dropper, to ever use the urine without it being cross contaminated.
