I'm looking at buying an ice eater this year for a flooded field. The water is only about a foot deep and digging a large hole for a bigger ice eater isn't a real option. Anybody have any suggestions or links? Thanks

Id say being that it is only a foot deep is gonna be your problem. The ice eaters work great in deeper water to were it can pull warmer water from the bottom to the top and keep movement in the water. We started out using a couple cheap trolling motors mounted in front of the blind until we upgraded to the ice eaters!! They worked but would not keep as big a hole open as the eaters would, now you could mount them in different location through out your hole but that would be some serious batteries to maintain....
Another method we used was a 2" trash pump and a sump pump, run the hose along the bottom and then turn it up mounting it under the surface. It will keep a decent size hole opened up believe it or not but you have to run either the gas pump or a generator. Guess you could possibly build a header pipe to give multiple smaller discharge points that may work just as well !!

With your area being so shallow, the pump idea may work great for your set up !!
