This will be my first season hunting this fall. I have a 45 acre tract that I have permission to hunt. It borders 200 acres of private land as well. there is about an 8 acre field that is close to the border of the property that I have to hunt. I actually enter and exit throught this field. Its usually wet in this field 9-10 months out of the year.
I have no access to equipment to do a food plot. My question is...have any of you guys tried the "Secret Spot" or "No Plow" and does it work???
If it would work...do I still have time to mow about a 1/2 acre, spray it, and then plant and it still be beneficial for me this hunting season??
Also...by me being in and out of the field with mower, weed eater, etc. will I spook the deer from this area.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've used alot of the "no till" stuff with good success. Just have to prepare the ground first. Get it down to the soil if possible.

Get in there now and clean it up.. mow it down nice with whatever you can. You could actually mow strips in it as shooting lanes even, it will provide the deer with cover. They will be more open to come out in the field if you "feel safe".

Sounds like you got a nice little spot to hunt! Best of luck to ya this year!!

Find another way to get to your stand or the deer will eventually begin to avoid the area in daylight hours.

My advice would be to mow strips in the field, wait a few days and spray the strips, and then plant a no-till seed blend during a rain. After it comes up, re-sew the bare spots. Winter rye or wheat will also grow well with minimal soil contact. I have had good results planting both of these grains while it was raining.
what he said would be perfect
