I have never been a lever gun guy. Ten years ago, Henry introduced the H010, 45-70. I bought one when I finally found one in stock. It was a jam machine. I sent it back and when it came back, it was rebarreled. They had changed the design from ghost ring sights to cheap Marlin style sights. I didn't even shoot it and sold it to a friend, a friend of more than 50 years beginning in 1st grade. He scoped it and we sighted it in. He never hunted with it but became an alcoholic instead. He passed away last month after a 10 year battle that destroyed him and his family. Last week, his widow gave me that gun. With the lord's blessing, I plan to carry it this season until it makes its first kill. In my friend Doug's honor.

I'm sorry about your friend. Drugs aren't the only destroyer of lives in this Country. May he find peace now.
And I hope you find that first deer for your friend.:(
