There aren't a lot of crappie in the Harpeth river in the Franklin area which is where I do most of my fishing. Never caught one in my 7 and a half years of fishing.
Saw a dead crappie on the shore of a small lake on a city park. Fishing is allowed there. The lake was flooded back in may since it's right next to the river. I don't know if the fish came from the flood or was stocked, or how many crappie are in the lake. But there is little to no cover on the lake.
What should I use to try and catch one or two? Could I sink a bush a couple days before so there is cover to fish? Use one of those white crappie jigs? Any suggestions appreciated...I don't need to get into crappie fishing hardcore, I just want to see if I can catch one or two.
