Although I've only killed one, I did enjoy the hunt. It's something a little different. The heat and bugs are a hindrance but so is below freezing air and gusty wind. Whether I'm sweating & panting or nose dripping & shivering makes little difference to me. Miserable is miserable. And I do like the way they look, skinny neck or not. There's an @$$ for every seat I guess.

I love the velvet hunt, totally different opportunity and experience. I hate the hot weather but honestly it's not much different than a lot of early to mid October afternoons. I haven't released an arrow yet on a velvet deer but I've walked a bunch the last couple years just waiting on one that trips my trigger. Maybe this is the year, got a few hitting the beans that may be candidates. But I am glad the state put this hunt in, I hope it stays.

I like the looks of velvet racks, a skinny neck may make the rack that much more impressive looking. That said, I really don't tolerate heat well. So it looks like I will be missing yet another Tennessee velvet hunt, as temps are supposed to be quite warm.

yes. It appears to be scorcher. Which is bad for the squirrel hunters
