Anybody else loading for a 6.5 Jap.I picked up a somewhat custom 6.5 Jap Arisaka at a gunshow and it shoots pretty good with factory Norma, can't afford to shot that stuff much! Loaded some 120gr Speer SP's and 100gr Nosler BT's with the Norma brass. Midway had the dies for $19.99 with the shellholder, not bad. Also loaded some 7x57, 8x57 and 6.5x55 today, old school day.

If anybody has a pet load for the old Jap gun I would appreciate it.

You maybe the only one around here who does but somebody out ther does or there wouldn't be dies around for them. ;) :D

big 8's in Weakley county :

I would be glad to help you on the 6.5x55, but the loads are based on my chamber dimensions and I could not say if they would shoot good in his gun. If you want the load data I will send it or I would recommend Norma in a 139gr. I could send you a sample to try, my gun really likes 140gr Sierra Gamekings and 100gr Nosler Ballistic tips.

Original military or Ruger/Remington?

I picked up a Ruger M77 in 7x57mm about three weeks ago at a Dalton gunshow. I had the trigger lightened out at Gunworks and that made a big difference, its the old tang safety model.

I actually have a 7.5 swiss rifle and it shoots good just too dang heavy to carry

Very true, I believe the next oddball will be a 7.5 Swiss or a 7.5 French. :/
