What a day! The delay puts season opening right when birds are most susceptible to the call for sure.

Hunting experience is better, but what really matters is all the birds you killed were after the bulk of hens were bred.
and to think twra really wanted to slow the killing down!!! two bird limit and delayed season-to slow the population decline down!!!!! nice job twra!!

There certainly seems to be more this year. Idk if it's the TWRA's plan or just good hatches in the last 2-3 years.
We all know it is not a "plan" that has literally been in effect for 11 months in most of the 95 counties. It's the good/great hatches last few years. Give credit where credit is due. I'm not implying that the plan (current season structure and bag limit of 2) is not a good idea, nor an I implying it will not pay us dividends in outyears if left in place, but the current "plan" cannot take credit for the stellar 2023 and 2024 opening weekends and great hunting that many experienced.
