Last season old age caught up with me in more ways than one. :/ I now require glasses not only to read but to see at distances. I have a hard time hunting with glasses and at 4am my eyes arent open enough to put contacts in.

Anyone tried the new contacts that you can keep in for 30 days. Does looking through a peep sight or scope with glasses affect your shooting.

Suggestions.
:)
Thanks

I'm sure it would affect your shooting a bow with glasses....however, and this may be wrong, it seems that if you practice with the glasses and develop a new anchor point, you could shoot just fine in the field. Just my opinion.

My eyesight is pretty bad and I wear glasses full time. I can't wear contacts any more. The only problem I have with glasses is fogging on cool mornings when I'm sweating after the walk in. seeing rifle or bow sights is not a problem.

Glasses would affect my anchor point severely. Otherwise, the bow string would RIP my glasses right off my head.

I do not wear the 30 day extended wear contacts. However, I know a number of people who do, with no problems. You should be fine. FWIW, if you have just started wearing contacts, you will get better at putting them in. Knowing the deer are waiting on you should be go enough 4AM motivation! :)

Hope you get it worked out.

Same problem kicking and screaming i bought a crossbow no choice If you do look at the new reverse limb . I bought a telson 130 almost as quiet as my hoyt and faster . loved my hoyt but we had to go our se-perate ways we could no longer see eye to eye

I've been wearing contacts and bowhunting for a few years. The only problem I've ever had is the contact shifting because it was dry. A good blink takes care of that.

I sleep in mine for about 3-4 days at a time. I take them out and clean them for a night...then right back in in the morning. Check out the Accuvue Oasis. I also keep some eye drops close by in case they dry up on me. I have slept countless times at deer camp in them. Wake up...put some drops in...good to go.

I have glasses, & absolutely hate having to wear them during deer season......They fog up really bad especially during cold weather.... I cant wear contacts because of pressure in my eyes...... I have tried every trick in the book & they still fog up.......

I have both but prefer contacts. My glasses fog up like crazy when I have a facemask on. I wear 30 day contacts but usually take them out at night to keep them from drying out. I use systain eye drops when needed. They do a pretty good job.

Not me. I fought with puting in contacts for a couple of months. I never could do it.

I wear glasses but mainly for reading. I have correction for distance vision but it isn't too bad. I just go without glasses or contacts while hunting. Not a chance I could see through a scope properly while wearing progressive bifocals. And glasses constantly fog up.

Wore contacts for 35 years and then had to go to glasses in 2003. It has not effected my pep sight vision, I have had to make some adjustments for use of a rife scope. The biggest challenge is that your glasses will fog up on you some times. Rain can also inter fear with glasses. Noting like rain drops on your lens and a deer close by. All in all for me glasses are okay.

Wore glasses two years before contacts and yes it will change your anchor point shooting a bow. To solve the fogging problem rub a drop or two of dawn or any dishwashing liquid on the lenses (both sides) and wipe clean. Will keep you fog free a few days. My son wears glasses and plays ball wearing rec specs and I do that for his. I've worn contacts now for about 15 years and have no problems shooting anything. I take them out every day.

I hate my glasses when it comes to hunting. They are a real pain in the neck.

I got used to sleeping in my contacts as long as you have solution. I had LASIC done 12 years ago and that's been great, highly recommend.

I had to give up shooting my compound for the same reason. I now wear bifocals and there is no way I could focus on the sight pin and the target at the same time. Glasses also caused me to miss a turkey this past Spring. I had a gobbler coming in and right at the moment of truth my glasses fogged up, I took the glasses off and then couldn't see the bead on my shotgun. Glasses are also a pain in the rear trying to use binoculars, [yeah I know, you can fold the eyecups in] but I still can't see out of them right.
Shooting with a scope without my glasses is ok, I just had to refocus my scopes.
Contacts are probably the way to go, but I don't like sticking things in my eyes, lol.
This year i'll probably get a set of those thingies that you attatch to your glasses that hang aroung your neck.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do.

Glasses are a pain in the rear but you got to do what you got to do. I wear stronger reading glasses than I do hunting glasses. Without them I can see a deer clear but the crosshairs in my scope are fuzzy. The lightest pair of reading glasses clears that up and makes it easier to see longer into dimming ligt conditions.

I wore glasses since i was a little kid now for the last 15yrs been wearing contacts and i love hunting with out glasses unless you have a limb smack you in the face on your way in the the stand on a prime spot and its November and deer running everywhere and now you fill like you are drunk can only see out of one eye makes for a bad morning real fast

Extended wear contacts are great. Had contacts for 20 years and never bow hunted with glasses. Sleeping in contacts is not big deal for a night or so. (I am not a DR) just in my own expierence just few drops of saline solution when you ewake up and you be good to go.

I like the daily wear contacts. They are a little pricey but very convienent and feel better in my eyes always getting a fresh pair. They work well for me I only wear on weekend. I can not wear contact at work due to a few chemicals we use.
