I'm coming in from out of state to waverly,tn dec 18-21 to hunt. I'm not from area so I have a few questions and would appreciate any advice.

1. Is this a good, average, or poor time of the season to hunt here?

2. When is rut typically in waverly?

3. Any advice on areas to focus on? There is some open pasture with some narrow points between hardwoods, also plenty of hardwoods to hunt. My question here is should I stay in woods or hunt pasture area?

Thanks so much for any help

We are experiencing rut right now in Middle Tennessee. I shot a big 9 point tending a doe yesterday. Focus on field edges and you'll be fine. Great time to be here but don't wait too long. Rut don't last forever.

Still seeing young bucks following does, but I haven't saw any mature deer during the daylight lately. I would say the rut is all but over on my farms in Waverly. Deer are starting to hit the fields more now.

Thanks guys. Don't really care if buck or doe. So that time of December will be okay for does?

Deer should be on post-rut feeding patterns at that time. Rut is over in the Waverly area by the 2nd week of December.
