How long for bucks to move back in?

The landowner on a 300 acre farm made some short sighted decision last year: If it has horns, it goes down. No does will be shot.
Unfortunately, they really cleaned house and wiped out all the young 6s and 8s that I had been letting walk.
This year, I have seen nothing but spikes and forks on camera and in the fields/woods. I've hunted this property for many years have have seen mature bucks every year.

Can last year have really affected this farm that dramatically? I would have thought other deer would have moved in from adjacent farms.
I assume that more mature bucks will fill this vacuum? Maybe sticking around after the rut?

Better bucks will move in. Nature abhors a vacuum. If a dominant buck is killed, his turf is usually claimed within a few days.
