Hey I just started a new acct on here after not being on here in a few years. I noticed all the threads are college ball and I love it but are there any NFL or just plain 'ol Cowboys fans out there?

I l like the NFL I watch a few games a week. Im not really a cowboys fan I follow the titans closely.

Unfortunately you're right about Jones. He does make it tough. I don't know anyone, regardless of how much they like the Cowboys, that wouldn't love to see them under new ownership or at least management.

WAS a long time cowboys fan under the Landry years. Even forgave jones when he fired Landry because he hired Jimmy Johnson who I respected out of Miami.
But when he fired Jimmy after winning two back to back superbowls and then fired Barry for WINNING a superbowl I was done with the cowboys and jones.
Cowboys can suck it till they get rig of jones.
What is it with these jones's and football anyways?? LOL

Can't say I'm a true fan but have enjoyed them doing good this year. Few of my buddies have always been Cowboys fans and i have told them for years that Romo is their problem. They still don't believe me lol.

Well he isn't a problem anymore. I love that we have that great of a backup QB though. Lol. I'm gonna try to post a link on here in a little while. Its to a song and slideshow. Billy Joel reworded a song for Romo and even as a fan I think its hilarious.

Yeah I had to quit betting on them back in the ' 90's because they kept winning but not covering the spread. I couldn't enjoy the wins much when I lost a bunch of dough. Probably what happened to you tonight, huh?

That's me too. I had high expectations for this season but when Romo got hurt in preseason I really thought it was over before it even began. Surprise!!!farmin68":2z724y6i said:

Grew up a cowboy fan but didn't like how Jerry Jones did Tom Landry. Still don't care for him but good to see them doing well. Doesn't really matter to me now as I hardly ever watch the NFL unless Sunday night or Monday night when I'm inside.
Had to hate the cowboys because the steelers were my back up team back in the day ( when your team is the packers you had to have a back up) but for what they did to Landry they deserve to never win another game.

I felt like I think all Cowboys fans felt when Jones fired Landry- I was upset and pissed off. While I still can't stand Jones I do still love the team.
My reasons for wishing Jones would go away are many, but there is more to the Landry thing than most people realize. The previous owner of the team, H.R. "Bum" Bright, couldn't stand Landry, mostly on a personal level. He didn't like how Landry stuck to Christian/conservative morals and principles and strictly enforced this code on his players. When the team had a few bad seasons under Landry (beginning the year after Bright purchased the team) he wanted to fire Landry but knew how badly that would go over and he didn't do it. So, when Jones wanted to buy the team, Bright made it a contractual obligation that, in addition to the money paid, Jones had to immediately fire Landry. He wouldn't sell otherwise.
So when Jones got the Cowboys he went out and found Landry on the golf course and fired him then and there. I am in no way defending Jones - he makes it hard to even be a fan sometimes- but there is more to the story than what is common knowledge.
Read "Boys Will Be Boys " for more info on the many goods and many bads of the 1990's Cowboys.

WOW! OK I just checked out secrant and sure enough, that's my post from this forum, word for word, but I'm not mtn cur and I didn't post that on sec.
