I never thought of cleaning a muzzleloader that way!!Thats a good idea,I just got into muzzleloading this summer. They are very hard to get clean. What do you usually plug the nipple with?Do you just dump the cleaner out after 15 mins or do you use a patch with a little cleaner in it and swab it out?

ase a wadded up cleanimg patch or anything that will seal off nipple but cork could get caught in nipple. tire patch might work. different guns seal different.

I use Windex and Vinegar. Works pretty good.

amonia and vinegar? Both are acids...Black powder and pyrodex are acids. Probably not a good idea long term. Be sure you are rinsing it out afterwards and oiling well.
