Hi y'all!

I'm new to TN from England and really want to get into hunting! I'm booked on the hunting education course as directed when I called the region IV office. I have plenty of gun handling experience as I used to clay pigeon shoot back home. Basically I'm hoping someone would be able to help me and show me the ways as there is soooo much information online some of which I find contradictory. I'm based in Knoxville.

First of all welcome to Tennessee and Tndeer, glad to have you around. I got into hunting on my own a few years ago and learned a whole lot just through this web site. Just ask questions here, usually plenty of people to help you out. Do you have land to hunt, or will you be using public land/WMAs?
 
I have one tract of private land I have permission for in Blount county, but also been out on the WMA's. I have an outdoors background so have been relishing being out in the woods! I was out as often as I could be during turkey season but that all came to no avail. I have looked and all the 'local' WMA's to Knoxville, however there is probably a clear difference between what I call local and you do!

IF anyone would like to exchange rock climbing knowledge for hunting knowledge that would be a great exchange as that is a field I am knowledgeable in!
 
Welcome to the site and to the state! Lots of great folks here and im sure someone wouldnt mind taking you under their wing to show you the ropes.
