help from 25-06 shooters..

I don't hunt with a .25-06 but, have got friends that do and they all say the same thing you do. They say a faster expanding 115-120 gr. bullet works good. Hope you get a biggun this year.

My Ruger m77 hawkeye is the best shooting gun right out of the box I have ever owned. It's the 26 ' heavy barrel in 25-06. I dropped a very large bodied deer last year bang flop at 328 yards.

Ive shot one for years.Started out shooting Core Locks and killed deer but they always ran a ways then died.Switched to 117 grain Ballistic Silvertips,Dead in their tracks with massive exit wound.25.06 is an awesome deer round with range to boot.

That would be 115 grain.

My buddy shot a really big body Mule deer with a 25-06 using 115 grain bullet. Not sure which brand or anything. He shot it 3 times. The another guy shot it with a 7 mag, then it finally went down. Another mule deer, a pretty big one also was shot with a 25-06, same bullet type, and it dropped like a rock !

Bullet placement is extremely important.

That's for sure. That is the most important thing !

if you want them to drop at the shot, take out both shoulders
started hunting with one in the 70's, still have that Browning
but you can double lung one at 50 yards and he can run another
100 yds. But I got mine to ground hog hunt with at the time.
and have killed one at 365 yds.

I just like 30 cal's better now

Very hard to beat a 25.06... I watched my 16 yr old drop 2 where they stood with his savage accutrigger last year, one I had missed at 240 yds and the other at just shy of 200... Awesome round! And he was shooting cor-loks...
