I can't find that old thread.

has there ever been a hunt there? is this the first year? If this isn't the first hunt, how many have they done there?

Seems I remember seeing this area, when I used to hunt Hickman county, and the guy I used to hunt with down there saying there were a lot of deer in there, but you couldn't hunt it.

It's new this year and it's a draw hunt. However I didn't put in for it. Hope they have nonquota archery hunts but if not then ill just wait for next year.

I understand it is 1753 acres in Hickman county, but I do not see it on the May 2015 TWRA "Huntable Lands" Google Earth file. Where exactly is it located?

it wasn't a WMA as of may.

Doesn't appear to be on the WMA list yet

I thought about putting in for this hunt because of the first draw hunt it has ever had and the area it's in . But I would like to know if there is going to be open hunting all year prior to the draw hunts etc before I throw away my PI points .( I only have 4 ) Also does anyone think 80 rifle hunters is a lot for this area ?

quota of 80 isn't bad for the acreage, that's less hunters than Williamsport.
Happy hollow will have open archery and ML season

Close to the Turney Center? East/west side of 50?
Not sure where the land is. But I think it is just past Turney center if your coming from i-40. On 50. From there I believe the campground and boat ramp is supposed to be a road to the left once you pass Turney center and going over what we called happy hollow bridge. The big bridge on 50. Andy, sorry for the late response! This is just through hearsay and what I know. Nothing in concrete but I hope it helps.
