After researching I see that a 22 hornet is very effective with a 50 grain bullet. The gun is a ruger m77 mk2. Can any one out there help me with some loads. I want some for my son to use.

What powders do you have? I'll check my manuals. I don't reload for the 22 Hornet.

I dont have anything but I would get what was needed.Maybe I am way off base, but I think a handloaded 50 grn would out perform a factory rem. 45grn.

You apparently have not been shopping for powder. You will be lucky to find powder in local gun shops. That's why I asked you what you had on hand. Finding powder and primers right now is like trying to find a needle in a hayfield.
