Gun Warranty Registration

Anyone know if a gun is required (e.g. TN state Law, etc.) to be registered for warranty purposes?

Most companies "encourage" it, but I haven't found any state law that requires it.

I'm probably too paranoid, but I don't really want to register for warranty if I don't have to.

I just sent in one of my guns in for warranty work they never even asked me about registration. They simply asked what was wrong with it then told me to box it up and put a number on the box that they provided to me. This was chiappa and my first warranty for any weapon so I'm not sure if they are all this easy.
