Seriously, Southeast Asia as a collective just yanked all yall's whining ass man-cards. That hot jungle society has suvrived generations on spicy-as-all-getout piping-hot noodle soups.

Pho-king wimps I tell you
That's because they're poor. Noodles, rice, water and peppers are cheap.

I ain't skeered of capsaicin. But I don't drink hot chocolate when it's a hundred f-ing degrees outside. Same with hot soups.

Only a hill billy would compare hot chocolate to gumbo. SMH that's like comparing lightbulbs to catfish

So, it's ok for you to use derogatory terms about me because of where I'm from…but it's not ok for me to do likewise?
it is okay for you to say what you want because we live in the greatest country on earth called the USA. Free speech and guns = America baby. 🇺🇸 We can also run Gumbo in July and tell people to eat bags on the internet.

I was thoroughly prepared to keep arguing if you wanted to persist. However, we do agree on free speech and firearms. So we've got some common ground there.

As far as eating a bag…gumbo when it's 100 degrees out is pretty much a bag of $#!+ to me. And you've already eaten that. So, to each their own. 😉

I'll let it go now if you will.

Hey I can't let go what I never got ahold of shag. But I will say this first amen to your post. But also ues , this is America and we are a more tolerant bunch than we was say 40 years ago and all so if you want to be a pink unicorn / no gumbo eater cause it's hot thats 100% okay and honestly not my concern because this is America. You do you and I'll fully support your rights to do that and all

While youre at it shag, tell this wanna be cajun imposter where your family learned to make gumbo from. Shags grandpa back in the late 70s worked in Louisianna for a true died in the wool born in the swamp cajun doing electrical work. This mans daddy didnt come out of the swamps until he was 18 years old and didnt hardly speak a word of what we would call english. THEY are the people that taught US how to make gumbo so ID say you need to go back to school for a few more years bpi. Their family and ours developed a relationship that went way beyond work and the Patins ended up moving up here to Chapel Hill area after coming up to visit us for years. In closing, be careful who you slander for not seeing things the way you do, they just might have a better connection to the facts than you do.

1. I stopped reading after the first 10 minutes.
2. Eat a bag

After you felate that bag of them, there wont be anything left! Kinda SUCKS when you get called out and cant back it up dont it?
Id type more but your ADD and preschool attitude couldnt focus past that one little sentence above.

Looks delicious, thanks for sharing. Love some good authentic gumbo. My FIL is from Rayne, LA and he makes a killer gumbo. He has to bring ingredients from Louisiana when he visits us in Tennessee because "he can't get the good stuff" at our local grocery stores. We eat gumbo year-round too.
If he is from Rayne he knows good gumbo. If he was from North Louisiana, probably not.

How in the world did we go from one of the best things in the universe to have for supper to fussing and name calling?
It's called gumbo snobbery. But I don't see them posting up any gumbo so it's all hot air !!!!

It's okay huntoholic. It's water under the bridge.
Such childish behavior, you cant even come up with something original of your own to say!
This reminds me of something Ive heard all my life: "never argue with an idiot, a passer-by might not be able to tell which one is the idiot." I think its time for another green stripe! Enjoy arguing with yourself! Kinda like dodge ball in elementary school, YOURE OUT! I keep using those references because I think its on par with your intelligence level.

I'm a pompous blowhard, Mr. Brpi sir. I know I was displaying a gumbo snobbery, when in fact I'm a Tennessee Hill Billy and specialize in cooking possums and coons. Your gumbo riegns supreme.
Like I said. Water under the bridge!!!! Also, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure you cook up some great raccoon !!!

Big man, there. Change someone's words around AFTER they said they are green striping you so you KNOW they won't see it. AND misspell your own damn name in the process. 🙄

Oh, BTW, where are you from? Initially, I assumed Louisiana since you were patting your own back so hard about gumbo. But, I also seem to recall you being one of the dip💩 's from ALDeer that wouldn't STFU awhile back, here in the cooking forum.

It's too hot for gumbo
Your gumbo pedigree isn't up to par
Your hot sauce is all wrong
You're not an authentic Cajun

Funny thing is, I don't see any gumbo entries from the critics ?

But I'm sure your smoked possum is legit !!!!

And I'm from the great state of Alabama. Roll Eagle !!!!!

Gumbo is mainly a cold weather dish. When you have a cold front coming in people say "Gonna be some gumbo weather or It's time to make a big pot of gumbo." Most people here wait for cooler weather to make a pot of gumbo, not when it's blazing hot outside. Also a lot of duck and goose gumbo is made in the Winter. My Mother used to make a lot of duck gumbo from the ducks me and my brother killed. My wife makes an excellent chicken and sausage gumbo and also a seafood gumbo with shrimp and a pound of crab meat added in. You talk about some good eating. This guy sells me my fresh crab meat.

I thought so. I would like to officially apologize to all the fine peoples of Cajun decent/heritage for mistaking a sister lover from Alabama as a Coonass.

It's a common mistake. But anyhow, whenever it turns cold, I'm looking forward to your gumbo entry.

I like Gumbo. Last pot I made was excellent. As usual. That is all I have to say about this.
