Got me a new dirt bike today (pic added)

Finally replaced my dirt bike that got stolen.
Got a 2001 Honda CR125 today.
GOOD GRIEF !!!!
I have ridden alot of bikes and alot of big bikes.
I have never really ridden a two stroke before.
Man's little friend that has a four stroke 250 summed it up best I think, after he rode it.

"That is insane"


It had supposedly been rebuilt shortly after being parked about 3 years ago.
I worked a deal that basically has me with zero invested in the bike.

Got it home, drained the gas out of the tank, went to walmart and bought a new gas can and stopped by Advance and got a spark plug.
Filled the tank, dude gave me a half quart of mixing oil, put the plug in and fired it up.

Can you say, powerband?

It will draw ya up for sure.

Snapped a quick pic with the cell phone before going to lunch yesterday. Not a bad looking bike I don't think.

My digital camera has "moisture issues" (don't ask) and I ain't gonna turn it on for a day or so.

My first dirtbike was an old Honda Elsinore 250 2 stroke. It would kill my friend's 750 street bike in 0-60mph. Fun bikes.

Nice bike looks identical to my old one but mine had black wheels and fmf pipe. Holler at me sometime at work I see the pipe is dented a bit. I have a brand new pipe that I pulled off mine if you want it.

my friends cr 250 always had my eyelids pilled back wide open.
and remember to always to check the grips to make shure that thay are glued tight.trust me when one comes off on a jump, the bike will ride you.

Ruger, i have a buddy that still has 500 2 stroke that you need to come up and ride

it will trully open you eye
dont know how any one ever raced a 500 2stroke

I rode a 450 Elsinore one time. Didn't really get on it, just putted around the yard but I saw real quick it was a monster.
Can't imagine having the skill to harness a beast like that.

i took one across an open feild that was pretty flat, got all the way to second gear and took it back

at the time i was 21 and about 160 pounds and all it wanted to do was hit the powerband and pull the front tire about a foot off the ground before you new you changed gears

they are truly a handfull

Do you still have your 450 John? A guy I work with is wanting to sell his 05 450X and I'm thinking about taking the plunge. It may have had 3 tanks of gas ran thru it. Looks brand new and runs like a scalded cat.
